Spring Break is coming to an end...

Japanese Knot Bag with iPad padded pocket

Time flies when you are busy sewing! Today was my last full day of sewing on spring break. Tomorrow I have my second crocheting class and before that I am looking forward to having a nice breakfast with Jay, so no sewing. Then it looks like Sunday is going to be my first outing on my bike, I'm sorry lungs! (Somewhere in there I also need to get a little homework done.) Anyways I have had a very productive break. Here are a few more projects I accomplished. All of them are custom orders.

Awe Knots!

Update: Finished another bag. This bag is listed on my Etsy store.

Dewberry Japanese Knot Bag, reversible

Two down, two more to go. I had to take a break from sewing today to go see Hunger Games with my honey. Well worth it! I loved the trilogy and loved the first movie just as much. Tomorrow I will finish the other two knot bags. For now, enjoy these:

An Echino Wish

I bought this fabric with intentions of making a knot bag. But it told me that it really wanted to be a messenger bag. I am glad I listened! I am so happy with how it turned out. This is a tough one to let go but a good friend is adding it to her collection of Off The Hook bags. Thank you Martha!

Love Me Knot

Japanese Knot Bag made with Amy Butler fabric "Love". I am in love with the knot bags. What a great concept. I will be making many more and listing them in my Etsy store. This bag was bought by my cousin.

Linen Screen Print Handbags

I took full advantage of not having homework or class today and made two linen handbags. Both fabrics are hand screen prints that I found at a local shop. I thought they would both make elegant handbags, and I would have to say now that they have taken shape, I think they are very elegant. Both of these bags will be listed on Etsy.

Computer Bag

Thanks to LoraLee and her Etsy shop, Sewing Supplies I was able to finish this bag in a timely matter. I am really excited with how it turned out. My machine was acting a little off so I was worried about the final product but as you can see it turned out nicely. As always, I can only hope that the customer is happy too!

Knots and Handbags...

This weekend I have had some time to work on a few bags I have been dying to make. First is a Japanese Knot handbag. I was a little challenged on the directions for sewing up the handles but once I figured it out it all made sense. Very simple project and I have already bought more fabric to make another. Next, I made a creation of my own from two bags I saw while perusing the web. It turned out to be a bow handbag for a sushi lover! I love the sushi fabric, and I think that the bow makes it elegant while still keeping it fun. I also really like the fine wale corduroy, it is so soft and easy to work with. Speaking of corduroy I will be posting pictures of my first computer messenger bag. I am waiting for supplies to make the strap but the bag itself is finished. I used a navy blue corduroy for the exterior and a fun blue flower fabric for the interior. This is a bag for a classmate of mine, she has a small laptop and could not find a bag to fit. Off the Hook to the rescue! She now has a custom lap top bag (I think it would also work great for an iPad). I am hoping that I will have enough time today to sew up some new pillows and upholster a foot stool for our living room. Thank goodness for no homework!

Since December...

I have been really busy with school so there has been little time for crafting. However, I did managed to get a few things made. I made yet another bag, this one for Jay's mom. I am in love with the lining. I also gave it a go at making an ipad cover. It turned out pretty well, a little snug but I think that is better than too big.
Two knitting projects:
Button brim hat and cowl neck warmer.
Both patterns are from Ravelry.
